Oak Park. 1 Village (1990 pop. 53,648), Cook co., NE Ill., a residential suburb adjacent to Chicago; settled 1833, inc. 1901. There some 25 houses and the Unity Temple (1908) were designed by Frank Lloyd Wright, who lived in the village (18891909). Wright's home and studio complex (18891911) is now a museum. Ernest Hemingway was born in Oak Park. Emmaus Bible School is there. 2 City (1990 pop. 30,462), Oakland co., SE Mich., a suburb of Detroit; inc. 1927. It is chiefly residential, but there is some industry. Products include automobile parts, tools, dies, and canvas items.
